My Washer Debacle

So my husband throws a load into the wash then comes and tells me the washer isn't working.  So I go down to the cellar to check it out.  Sure enough it isn't spinning or agitating.  So I pull it out thinking I am going to take the back off and see if I can figure out what the problem is.  Wrong!!!  I can't even find the shut off valve.  Then I decide while I have the washer pulled out I will vacuum up all the junk under it.  So I start vacuuming and something gets stuck in the end of the vacuum.  It just looks like a pile of lint so I pull it out only to find out it is a flat dried up dead mouse.  I throw it on the ground and start freaking out.  Felt like I was going to be sick.  Then I get a bag and throw it in the trash and go scrub my hands while still being grossed out.
Then I call the repair place and they can't get here for a couple of days because of course it's the weekend.  But I still have another load of laundry that needs to be done.  My husband needs clothes for work.  So I load my son and the laundry into the car and head to the laundry mat.  Needless to say I have not been to the laundry mat in a very long time.  They have these new fenangled washers that I don't know how to use.  Thank goodness someone was there to show me the ropes.  But the funniest thing was when I went to put the laundry detergent in.  It is on top of the washer which is on top of a platform.  Now I am only a little over 5' tall and I can hardly see where to put the detergent let alone put it in.  Thank goodness there was a chair nearby. So I had to pull the chair over and stand on it to get the detergent in.  I felt like a little kid who couldn't reach the cookie jar.
